Volunteer Opportunities & Upcoming Mission Trips

In addition to the Spring Break 2012 mission trip that is detailed below, other scheduled mission trips to the orphanage in El Salvador are: July 14-21 and July 21-28, 2012. Be praying about going with us then!

Our next SHIP mission trip to El Salvador will be March 10-17, 2012. Projects on this mission trip include, but are not limited to, teaching English to children in the street ministry (offers opportunity to present the Gospel); training older orphans in cooking/canning/freezing to sustain the orphanage; planting fruit trees; painting; and evangelism outreach in the neighborhood outside the orphanage on Thursday.

We will depart from Bryan, Texas, on Saturday, March 10, for Houston IAH at approximately 4:45 a.m. Flight information: Continental flight 1441 departing at 9:35 a.m.; returning Saturday, March 17, on Continental flight 1468 at 12:42 p.m.

Cost of the trip is $600.00 to SHIP (which includes transportation to and from Houston, transportation in El Salvador, lodging and food while in El Salvador, travel insurance, and team t-shirt) and cost of the airfare (currently $691.53). Mission team members are responsible for their own reservations; however, we will be happy to help you make your reservations, if needed.

Applications are available online at http://shipinternational.org/policiesapplication-forms/  and are due to SHIP by Monday, February 6, along with a non-refundable $250.00 deposit, for the SHIP portion of the cost. The balance of the deposit ($350.00) will be due by March 2.

We will have training sessions on Sunday, February 19 and March 4 at 4 p.m. for team members who live in the Bryan/College Station area. We request that team members outside of our area be available for a phone conference during these training sessions to be informed about mission trip details.
