Volunteer Opportunities & Upcoming Mission Trips

SHIP is offering 2 one-week mission trips to the orphanage in El Salvador this summer:

• July 21-28, 2012
• July 28 – August 4, 2012.

Cost of the trip is $600 per week, plus the cost of airfare (we will help you make your reservations, so that we are all on the same flights). The $600 cost covers the following while you are in El Salvador: transportation, lodging, food, travel insurance, and a SHIP t-shirt.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in going. We highly recommend that you get your application in immediately and that you purchase your airfare, as the price of tickets rises the closer we get to the departure date. This is a popular time of year for mission trips, and the planes tend to fill up rapidly.

These trips are exciting, life-changing, and fun. We will work with the children at the orphanage, teaching English classes (no, you don’t need to be a teacher OR speak Spanish) to them and to the kids who live in the neighborhood; paint; build; garden and plant fruit trees; cook for the orphanage; work on some homes in the neighborhood; and a million other unscheduled things. We will also have a special day with the orphanage kids doing either a special event or taking a field trip.
