Knowing that God had called them into full-time Christian service, Sam and Angela Brown began to pray about where God would have them serve. They knew about the work in El Salvador and began to pray for God’s will for them there. Sam went on SHIP’s 2011 spring break mission trip and quickly realized that God was confirming El Salvador as their first field of service. Sam and Angela and their family moved to El Salvador in June 2011, and they are living at the orphanage.

Sam has a degree in horticulture from Texas A & M University, which he is putting to good use as he trains the children and those in the neighborhood to grow vegetables. The plan is to feed the big orphanage family and perhaps develop an operation that will help make the home more self-sufficient. Ultimately, planting the gospel is Sam’s focus.

Angela is a physical therapist. She is helping with the physical needs of the children at the orphanage, particularly those who have muscular dystrophy. She is planning how to win the neighborhood children to the Lord through Bible study, drama, and other activities.

Their children are son Morgun (14 years), daughter Madison (14 years), and son Garrett (10 years). They love Christ and the outdoors, and have found many adventures awaiting them in El Salvador!

SHIP welcomes the Browns to our growing family in El Salvador. They are valuable assets and great partners in reaching the lost and working to make a better life for the children. Please keep them in your prayers.
