  • Robert Horton, President. A co-founder of SHIP, Robert Horton has been a volunteer and ardent supporter of SHIP since 2004. Robert is a home builder in Bryan, Texas, and has been married for 40 years to his wife, Ann. Robert and Ann have been to El Salvador over 35 times since 2004, working with the orphanage. They are members of Central Baptist Church in Bryan.

  • Maria Martinez, Vice President. Maria Martinez came to the United States at the age of four and became a citizen at age 24. Maria has worked in various areas of banking and law throughout her career, bringing invaluable expertise to SHIP. She and her husband, Carlos, own and operate Carlos Martinez Painting Company of Bryan, Texas. They have three children. Maria is passionate about the welfare of children here in the United States and abroad.

  • Marjorie Morris, Treasurer. Having been a volunteer since 2005, Marjorie Morris joined the Board in 2009. Marjorie is retired from a long and successful career in accounting; however, upon retirement she began her own business. She has served on numerous non-profit boards, working with missions in the United States, El Salvador, and Mexico and with various other ministries. Marjorie is a member of United Free Will Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas, and spends her spare time teaching Bible studies, gardening, and enjoying her three grown children and their families.

  • Jack Adams, Board Member. After volunteering with SHIP for many years, Jack Adams began serving on the Board in 2008. He is retired from a 23-year career in interstate commerce. He and his wife, Angie, have been married for 35 years and have four children and one granddaughter. They are members of Parkway Baptist Church in College Station, Texas, where he serves as a deacon. Jack and Angie have a deep love for children. In his spare time, Jack enjoys camping, studying history, and is a former private pilot.

  • John Lawrence, Board Member. Having joined SHIP’s Board in 2011, John Lawrence has a background in small business design, product development, production, marketing, sales, and service. He and his wife, Trisha, have been married 24 years and have one daughter. John has a passion for teaching the Gospel and making disciples – knowing Jesus and making Him known.

      • Ann Horton, International Services Coordinator. A co-founder of SHIP, Ann Horton has been a tireless volunteer and supporter of SHIP since 2004. She works with her husband, Robert, as a home builder in Bryan, Texas. Additionally, she serves on the Bryan City Council, currently as Mayor Pro Tem. Ann and Robert have a daughter, Sara, who is also strategically involved with the orphanage in El Salvador.
  • Astrid Zavaleta, President – NGO – El Salvador.
